Thanks to all who attended, participated and supported the first Canadian Chefs' Congress we had the most amazing weekend! Many who've emailed us have said that this Congress has helped transform the way they're approaching their work. We couldn't have asked for more. In the next few weeks we'll be changing the format of the website and adding new and breaking information. We hope you'll continue to look for our upcoming events and announcements too. Standing on the land and eating from it, the energy, the food, the people. It was all inspiring and amazing. Thank you Chef Stadtlander for sharing your oasis, and thanks to all the chefs and cooks that shared their bounty and talent with us. Thank you Father Earth for your blessing. It was an unforgettable weekend. I loved it.
We spent our only two days out of our own kitchen this summer at this amazing event! Food was incredible, ambiance was a combination of the Killaloe Craft and Community Fair, Burning Man and a treeplanting camp. Nobody had any attitude: everyone was united in their love of food, of cooking and of learning from each other. Many thanks for Micheal Stadtlanders vision and for all the effort it obviously took to make it all work perfectly.
I have been to many culinary events over my career. By far this was one of the most insightful, fun, gastronomical and folksy events I've ever attended. There was fantastic chefs’ showcasing their talents without the pretentiousness that chefs are sometimes known for. Meeting farmers, vintners and suppliers that really truly care about their crafts and products was a breath of fresh air. The breakout sessions in different open air environments on the farm were well received. I loved the artwork and themes on the farm, in particular, "Mother Oven". I want to thanks all those who volunteered their time and resources to making this event so successful. On a personal note, as chefs', we may not all agree on the direction we should go when it comes to the execution of our craft, but to be successful, we need passion and love for food, which is definitely what we shared at this event. Thank you Chef Michael, your family for showcasing and sharing your beautiful farm for this event.
